Teams working at Leeds Student Medical Practice
We are a large medical practice and currently employ over seventy people to look after more than forty-four thousand students registered with us, who are studying in higher education and living in Leeds.

GP Registrars
GP Registrars are experienced doctors who have decided on a career in General Practice. Before they come to the practice they have worked for several years as hospital doctors and are learning to adapt their medical skills and knowledge to the General Practice environment.
Leeds Student Medical Practice is accredited as a GP Training Practice
Being a Training Practice is a mark of quality and practices have to go through a rigorous selection process before they can receive GP Registrars.
GP Registrars are experienced doctors who have decided on a career in General Practice. Before they come to the practice they have worked for several years as hospital doctors and are learning to adapt their medical skills and knowledge to the General Practice environment.
Practice Nurses
Nurses are available by appointment to provide: blood pressure checks, cervical smears, chlamydia testing, contraceptive pills/patches, contraception advice, dietary advice, dressings, ear syringing, emergency contraception, health care checks, immunisations, sexual health advice, stitch/staple removal, travel advice, urine checks, weight management. Please specify which you require when booking.
Practice Team
Reception
The friendly reception team is here to provide a link between you and the clinicians. They will do their best to help you, please do likewise. Reception is open to answer enquiries via telephone from 8:00am-18:30pm.
Medical Secretaries
The Medical Secretaries type hospital referral letters, liaise with NHS and private hospitals for patients appointments and perform a multitude of office duties.
