At Leeds Student Medical Practice we strive to provide a supportive and safe environment for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBTQIA+) students. We believe in fairness, equality, and above all value diversity.
While most health issues affecting LGBTQIA+ individuals are similar to those of the general population, we know that LGBTQIA+ people have unique health needs and experience disparities in care.

A Social Prescriber is here to support your non-medical needs. That means helping you connect with local services, community groups, and activities that can improve your mental, emotional, and social wellbeing.

We understand that LGBT+ people can face unique challenges around identity, discrimination, mental health, and loneliness. Our LGBT+ Social Prescriber is trained to work inclusively and respectfully with people across the spectrum of sexuality and gender.
