PCN Senior Clinical Pharmacist – 37.5 Hours per week

Salary £47,126 – £53,219 (depending on skills and experience)

Leeds Student Medical Practice and The Light Primary Care Network are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and forward thinking Senior Clinical Pharmacist. We have a permanent vacancy for a Senior Clinical Pharmacist to join our large, supportive, busy and friendly team.  We want the most resilient people to join us- no two days will be the same.

We are wishing to recruit an experienced Clinical Pharmacist to take on the day to day leading of a newly formed PCN Pharmacy team. You will already be a prescriber and have finished the recommended national pathway or equivalent.  You will be aiming to develop your line management and leadership skills further by becoming Senior lead for the team.  You will be required to provide quality patient care and leadership on medicines optimisation, quality improvement and manage some aspects of the quality and outcomes framework.

The successful candidate will work across our PCN and work closely with the Clinical Director whilst leading the development and delivery of medicines optimisation service including the Structured Medication Reviews part of the PCN DES.  There are many opportunities in this role for development and ownership. The role will support the development and training of the existing 4 Clinical Pharmacists as well as working alongside our Lead Clinical Director, GPs and wider Pharmacy Team.  In addition to having lots of enthusiasm, applicants should have some experience in the general practice/primary care setting.

The patient population across the PCN is predominantly students and young working professionals; therefore it is essential that the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate interest in helping young people manage their medication and also have a proactive view on disease prevention. Experience or an interest in Mental Health management and prescribing is of significant advantage as the patient population based across the PCN has a large mental health need.

Our PCN does not have any care homes attached to our footprint.

If you would like to discuss the role further or request an application pack please contact Yasmin Hussain, HR Manager, via e mail on yasmin.hussain22@nhs.net
